Framed “alpona” painting by artist from Santiniketan, West Bengal.
This alpona is traditionally drawn at the doorway at the time of the groom’s departure for the bride’s place. It is considered auspicious to walk over it on the way out. It demonstrates “kolachora”, “Sonkholota”, “kolachora” and “kopiful” from bottom to top, respectively.
