Framed “alpona” painting by artist from Santiniketan, West Bengal.
This alpona is traditionally drawn at the ‘chandnatola’ or marriage podium, at the bridegroom’s place. It represents “astadol padma”, “shankhalota”, “khoilota”, lotus petals in concentric circles from center to the periphery, respectively.
