Description

This carpet, by artisans from Uttar Pradesh, is woven on a off white base with criss-cross blue and teal broad strokes. The edges are seamed. It is suitable for everyday use.

These carpets or ‘dharri’(s) as they are locally called is handwoven from cotton jute and sheep wool. The colors used are natural vegetable dyes.

They are available in various sizes and colors.

Care Instructions – Can be vacuumed or water washed with detergent with a mild brush to remove stains. As the weight increases significantly after washing it is advisable to wash them in open spaces, rolled and kept upright to let the water drain out and kept in the sun for drying. For storage, the carpet should be rolled, not folded.
