“nabannamela.com” is an e-commerce initiative, showcasing by the Suresh Amiya Memorial Trust (SAMT) in association with The Kuljian Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd., to connect buyers with the rural artisans of Bengal and beyond. The objective is to help artisans, who do not get access to a larger market, display their products in our platform.

2. Why the name nabannamela?

The Managing Trustee of SAMT started an annual art and craft fair by the name “Nabanna”, at Shantiniketan way back in 2006 with the motto of “help artisans help themselves”. With the onslaught of the pandemic in 2020, these artisans suffered financially with hardly any scope to showcase their work. This gave birth to the idea of launching an online tool to display their products, connect them to a wider audience throughout the year, and give them economic stability. Hence, the name ““nabannamela.com”” came up.

3. What products are we offering?

The website currently showcases sarees, jewellery, utility and home décor products representing the various craft styles of India.

4. Where does nabannamela.com source its products?

Products on “nabannamela.com” are sourced directly from artisans and craftsmen of different Indian states with primary focus on Bengal.

5. Where can you buy our products from?

One can order their selections from our website. Besides, our merchandise is available during annual fests at “Nabanna” Mela in Shantiniketan, held every year around Holi.

6. What is the payment modes accepted in our website?

““nabannamela.com”” supports a wide array of payment modes like Credit/Debit card, UPI, Bank Transfer, Paypal etc. Currently we are not accepting COD.

7. Where are we shipping our products?

Products can be shipped to all places within the country. Currently, our products cannot be shipped outside India.

8. What if an item is Sold Out can I add it to my wish list and get delivered when it’s available?

Yes, one most certainly can. A “Notify Me” button appears for products which are out of stock. Please provide the contact details through it so that once the product is restocked, a notification for the same will be sent via email and one can order it.
